Meet Your Canine Teacher

When it comes to working and being around dogs and people who love dogs, there is nothing I like more. From the youngest puppies to the seasoned canines, I have been working professionally with dogs and pets for nearly a decade. My passion truly lies with helping people and their dogs build strong, lasting relationships.

After graduating with a BS in Business from Penn State University, my professional career in the pet industry began at Vixen Hall Kennels. At Vixen Hall I managed both the kennel facility and grooming department. I focused my efforts on providing the absolute best care for every pet; taking the time to truly get to know them and make them feel comfortable.  I also worked closely with rescue organizations helping to prepare rescued dogs for finding their forever homes. I realized that my true passion was animal behavior and training. I continued my education and became a certified trainer through the Animal Behavior College, graduating with honors; as well as earning my diploma with honors in the Canine Behavior Science and Technology program at the Companion Animal Science and Technology Institute, learning under renowned behaviorist, James O’Heare.

I strive to create lesson plans and training activities that are easy to follow for both my clients and their dogs. Through these methods, playful activities, and low stress attitude I hope to make training a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone! I am a professional member of both the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and the Pet Professionals Guild (PPG), whose focus is building knowledge and advocating force-free methods in the pet industry. I am also a registered AKC Puppy S.T.A.R and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

I am actively continuing my education and I am currently working on my national training certification through the Pet Professionals Guild, a nationally recognized dog training certification.

My husband, Geoff, son, Hunter, and daughter, Kate, have two wonderful dogs: Joey and Sunny and feisty little kitty, Milo. Joey has been with me from the beginning. He has been a driving force in my career and assists in many ways with my training programs. He is one of the reasons The Speaking Dog Training Co., LLC came to be and is the best employee I could ever ask for! Sunny is new to our group but promises to be an outstanding addition to our family and SDTC team.

So thank you for learning about The Speaking Dog Training Co., LLC. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you and your wonderful pets in the future!
